Fishing Season
The River Griese opens for fishing from 17th March through to 30th September.
License Requirements
There is no license required to fish for Brown Trout in Ireland. Please check here for details from Inland Fisheries.
A license is required for Salmon & Sea Trout fishing. These can be obtained from –

Permit
A permit is required to fish the River Griese.
Season membership can be obtained by applying via the website.
From the 17th March Day Permits can be obtained either online via the website (Day Tickets/Events tab) or from the following locations –
- The Old Hardware, Narraghmore
- Ballitore Post Office
- Old Post Office, Moone
- Crookstown Service Station
- Castledermot Petrol Station (Behan’s)
- Griffin & Hawe Hardware, Athy
